These lights will only work when you plug them in, so you do not have to use them all the time. However, you can also hardwire the Rope Lights so that they are on all the time, but it is recommended that you get help from an electrician instead of attempting to do that on your own. Whether you choose to plug the lights in or hardwire them, using Rope Lights to decorate your cabinets is a great way to personalize your décor and a practical way to bring more light to your kitchen or pool house.
