A new CBS News broadcast reports that americans have just four years to go before the plug is pulled on the incandescent light bulb. Did you know that lighting accounts for 22% of the total electricity used in the US? The majority of that is used to power incandescent light bulbs which lose approximately 95% of their energy through heat. Innovations in the manufacturing of LED light bulbs has dramatically reduced their cost and will continue to do so in the coming years. New regulations are expected to be put in to place by 2014 that will essentially ban standard incandescent light bulbs in the US. See the full story below.

    light bulbs are good for lighting the home but stay away from incandescent lamps because they generate so much heat :;.
